Welcome back to my blog our today's blog topic is festivals of ladakh. So let's get started.
Ladakh is a administered by India as a Union territory. Ladakh is really famous for travel and tourism, ladakh is also famous among youngster for bike riding. If you wants to know more about ladakh please check my previous blogs for it. So now we are going to see some famous festivals of ladakh.
The festival we are going to see is Losar festival of Ladakh. The Losar festival is celebrated for a whole month during which the Gods, Deities, Ancestors and even animals are fed scrumptiously prepared food. This festival celebrated as the new year that is two months ahead of the Tibetan new year.
2. Ladakh Festival
The ladakh festival is a combination of various cultures of central Asian, Tibetan and Northern India. which are all found in Ladakh. This festival is Held from 1st to 15th September in the town of Leh this is large scale celebration.
3. Stok Guru Festival
Stok Guru festival begins on the 9th and 10th day of the first month of Tibetan calendar. The stock Guru festival is annual festival hosted in Stok village, it is the present seat of the ladakhi Royal Family.
4. Sindhu Darshan
The 4th festival we are going to see is Sindhu Darshan. Sindhu Darshan is the 3 days festival organised on full moon night in the month of June to commemorate the river Indus as a symbol of communal harmony and unity in India.
5. Tak Tok festival
The Tak Tok festival Of ladakh is celebrated in the caves of Tak Thok Gompa and is the important major festivals of Ladakh. The festival is celebrated with great pomp and fanfare, locals as well as tourists from long distances areas participate is this occasion.
6. Saka Dawa Darshan
Saka Dawa Darshan is the most important festival of Ladakh is also called as the one of the holiest Buddhist Holidays. It is celebrated on the fourth month in the Tibetan calendar which comes in June. This month is said to be the month when Lord Buddha was born and received spiritual Nirvana. Attending this festival is amongst the best things to do in Leh.
7. Hemis Festival
Last but Not the least Hemis Gompa being the largest and richest buddhist monastery in Ladakh hosts it's annual Hemis festival on the 10th day of the Tibetan Lunar month.
