Yami was born in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India on 30 December 1990. Yami came into the limelight when she participated in the reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa in 2009 and was crowned the winner. Her Bollywood debut was in Prakash Jha’s Ghayal: Ek Prem Katha, which was followed by a critically acclaimed role in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Black. Yami was appreciated for her role of Jeevika in Ram Gopal Varma’s Baba Bihari where she was also seen doing an item number. She has also featured in films like Love Breakup Zindagi, Sanam Re, Kaabil and her latest release Uri: The Surgical Strike. The Mumbai Mirror reported that the couple got hitched in a simple ceremony on Friday. According to the report, the wedding took place at a Maratha-style home in Pali Hill in Mumbai and that it was followed by a mehendi ceremony. The reports further suggested that Yami and Aditya chose a floral and a colourful theme for their ceremonies. The report also stated that it was a private affair for friends and family. But there were a few fan clubs which took to the internet to share the news of the actress’s marriage. Yami’s wedding preparations Earlier this week, Yami had shared pictures from her mehendi session on social media. The actor had donned a white lehenga and white dupatta, along with her bindi and a few bangles. The bride looked pretty and is wearing minimal make-up.
After the 'Wedding Check', Yami and Aditya are now enjoying the post-wedding period. In an interview with a leading daily, Aditya said that they will be celebrating Christmas and New Year in a beach vacation. He further said that they are definitely planning for a summer destination wedding but it depends on their team and Yami's shooting schedule.
