The inevitability of WFH (Working From Home) is making a huge difference in the lives of many people. Some are good and some are very bad. WFH will bring about social changes! Let's see about.

Due to Corona problem, many IT companies have given WFH facility to employees without any other option.

Although some companies are already offering it, they have not implemented it on a large scale.

Although 100% Productivity is not currently available in WFH system, IT companies are not facing any major productivity problem or loss as they are getting above 80%.

Despite practical problems such as contract cancellations and loss of income due to the global economic recession, employees have not seen much change in labor.

With the WFH system, companies have benefited significantly by reducing costs on electricity, house keeping, stationery, food, water (for drinking/toilet).

Companies have also decided to vacate some of the branches/offices if the same situation continues.

Building contracts
As the buildings are currently under contract, it is not possible to leave halfway through. Therefore, they do not extend multi-site, office branches, building contracts after contract completion.

The company where the friend works has offices in two buildings. The contract for one of these expires at the end of this year.

Therefore, they are going to cancel the building contract and shift the employees to the same building.

This means that only 40% of the employees work in the office and the remaining 60% are WFH.

IT companies have become the lucky cat. Hence, there is scope for WFH to be implemented on a large scale in the near future.

Cost is low
Employees also do not need to be in Chennai. They can work from their hometown.

Rent and other expenses remain. Almost like a ₹20,000 salary hike.

An expenditure in the city and an expenditure in Chennai are likely to become one expenditure. The resulting family disputes are a separate issue.

Even if you have to stay in Chennai, you can move to the suburbs to live in prime locations by paying higher rents.

WFH while hiring
There will be a situation where IT companies will ask for WFH when they are hiring, they can leave the training and go to the city.

Companies can also open small offices in cities like Coimbatore, Trichy, Madurai, Erode, Nellai, Tirupur and plan to have local employees come and go if there is an emergency.
