Google Page Experience
Google is improving the quality of the web. The latest Google Page Experience change is to improve the web experience.
Google Page Experience
Globally, the number of people visiting the website through Google search is high. More people go through Google search than through social sites.
Google owns 92% (2021) of the global search market, and its power can be seen.
So, if Google makes a change, it will have a global impact.
It will make changes in its Algorithm at regular intervals to improve the internet quality and provide a better experience to the users.
Site operators will make changes to their site in response to the change made by Google.
The current change is Google Page Experience. Before looking at this let's see what Google AMP is.
Google AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages)
Google AMP is brought by Google to provide faster web experience to mobile users.
Designed to open sites from Google search faster.
If you do a Google search on mobile, some sites will have a sign with a lightning symbol next to them. The depth is fast.
To be clear,
If you use the Facebook app, there are some news articles with the Instant Article code, which opens faster (they have removed this code now).
This is because Facebook stores news site pages on its site.
One such facility is Google AMP. Google caches the details of the sites.
A lot of people have been complaining about Google AMP being difficult to implement and maintain.
Controversy arose in European countries as it affects privacy.
So, little by little Google reduced the requirement of Google AMP.
Now Google has come up with a feature called Page Experience to almost replace this.
Google Page Experience
Google has come up with a Page Experience system that gives a score based on the quality of the sites.
How fast is a site? How about reading? Is it safe? (https), not moving when opened?
It has been defined as
What is immobile?
When you open a website and click a mouse (link) instead of moving it, you accidentally click something else.
In addition, excessive ads will be distracting to the readers. Incidents like this make the internet experience miserable.
Google made a mistake
Google AMP was launched by Google in 2015. Even after 6 years of hard work, it has turned out to be useless.
If the current Page Experience controls were done in 2015, the World Wide Web would have become much better by now.
