In the past years,very few girls and women received school or college education.They are confined to the house and were expected to do household chores,look after the family and raise children.At the family level, women had very little to no opinion, and the men were the sole in-charge of all decisions. A woman was considered a man's possession.Their main  role was as wives and mothers.In past  times a woman's job was to take care of her family.According to historical examination of their place in society, women in past  India did not enjoy equal position  to men.

Traditionally, men and women had completely playing  opposing roles. In previous times, men dominated society while women were secondary to them.During periods of war, women were worked in  the labor market to undertake work that had been traditionally restricted to men.

Today, the scenario has changed for the better.More women are now educated and are take part in various kinds of work.They are undergoing formal training.mastering different skills and excelling  in their chosen field.In recent years,there has been a change in the social role of women in India.

Working women refer to females who are engaged in formal employment outside their homes. This includes women who work part-time or full-time jobs, contributing to the workforce and economy.Women now work as professional doctors.pilots.soldiers.nurses,engineers, etc.They are also doing jobs which were done only by men in the past.

Women play an integral role in the society.They are the backbone of families and communities.Women play a unique  role in community building and often take on leadership roles in community organisation.They provide care and support to their families.Women are essential contribution to the economy.

Womens  have attained great  success in every field.,whether it is sports,politics or academies.The role of women in today's world has changed significantly and for better.Every international women's day is celebrated on March 8 to give respect to  achievement of women in all areas of life.Women's empowerment  is necessary  for achieving gender equality which is the basic  right for them.Gender equality means  that women and men have equal rights,opportunities and can participate equally in all aspects of life.

Sarojini  Naidu was a poet,politician and freedom fighter.Mary curie is the first Indian female boxer,Kiran bedi become first women to join the Indian police service.Women are now self-sufficient well and financially independent.
