I know what you're thinking. You think it happened a long time ago right ? you're very wrong. I found my first love last year when I was in 200L in the University of Uyo.
It all started when the game of Mini Militia was gaining popularity around school, not just guys were playing it safe. The phone I used then had a very low battery capacity, so it didn't always stay on for a long time, especially while data is on or while playing games, I was addicted to the game so I played it every time. That particular day after playing some rounds of Mini Militia, I had a low battery there was no light in the Hostels and lectures halls but there was one place I could charge my phone, since there was always light there, the Cafeteria. Me, Shadow and Undead decided to go to the Cafeteria to check if we'd find a place to charge our phones.
As we passed through the Cafeteria door my eyes was aimed at the angle I liked staying, Sitting Space - Check, Facing the door- Check, and to crown it all, Fatojo was sitting there as usual. We laughed as we walked towards him because he was always there and when he's there, there's space to charge. We exchanged pleasantries and Handshakes as we plugged in our phones. I couldn't join in on the round of Mini Militia the three of them were playing so I settled comfortably on the seat, took a deep breath and exhaled with relief. I began the usual action of taking a quick scan when I enter an environment, so I began looking around.
That was when I saw her, who would have thought that a low battery could make you meet the love of your life. There she was standing in all the glory of a beautiful lady. She was dark skinned, no not dark skinned, actually brown skinned, Wizkid was definitely staring at her picture when he sang "Brown Skin Girl" with Beyoncé. She wore a black turtle necked cloth and a blue jeans, you know the familiar slim and curvy, yeah that's how she was. I saw her holding a Rick Riordan's Novel and was staring at a game of chess her friends were playing. I did a quick stereotyping, she held a Rick Riordan's book, that means she loves reading, and she was staring at a game of Chess meaning.... I can't be wrong. Her friend must have shared a joke because she had to hold the chair with her other hand, steadying herself as she laughed.
She looked in my direction pulled out a phone and charger from her bag and started approaching were I was sitting, obviously coming to charge her phone. That was when I got a better view, she was The spec, I mean The Spec. Time to shoot my shot. She smiled, walking closer as two strands of long hair dangled in front of her, I never believed in love at first sight, but damn. She reached were I was sitting "Hey, is there space to charge ?" Her voice was so beautiful that it made me faint, then I woke up from the dream. Then I heard my phone playing one of Johnny Drille's songs. No wonder.
