So before starting some healthy lunch box ideas first we discuss some tips for packing lunch boxes.
- Wash, clean, and dry lunch boxes before use.
- Use a non reactive, non corrosive tiffin or lunch box.
- Choose stainless steel, glass or food grade plastic only.
- Always check that lunch box have tight fitting lid so food don't spill out.
- Choose lunch box in simple shape which clean easily.
- Use only microwave safe plastic lunchbox for heating in microwave.
- Don't consume packed food if it has been kept for long hours or it has foul order/taste
- Child sized utensils, crockery, tables, and chairs may also make it easier for children to serve themselves and learn to eat independently.
So let's discuss some ideas of healthy lunch box
- Choose any traditional snack made with local, seasonal foods, snacks such as vegetable idli, dhokla, vegetable poha, kathi roll, dosa, or uttapam both are nutritious.
- For cereal and pulses, you can try stuffed dal parantha, thalipeeth thepla, palak- besan puri, etc.
- Dairy food such as cheese, plain curd added with fruits and vegetables/ boondi make a healthy diet.
- Seasonal fresh fruits such as Apple, pear, banana, mango, grapes, etc. Make Tiffany box attractive and healthy.
- Raw vegetables such as peeled carrot, sweet pepper, tomato, cucumber, etc. Can be packed with dips.
- Homemade plain popcorn, chiwda, the mixture are healthy and light snacks.
- Pizza, pasta, burger, and tacos can be healthy with the following suggestions
- Use whole-wheat bread
- Use lots of vegetables
- Make none fried patties from cottage cheese, chicken, channa, soya, kidney beans
