Recently horticulturists make 121 varieties of mango on a single which has become an attraction in Saharanpur (UP).

Mangoes are found in India over 4000years ago. and then spread all over the world.

mango scientific name is magnifera indica. it is a rich source of Vitamin A. its fruit type is known as Drupe/stone. major disease in mango is powdery mildew.

Suitable soil for mango is well-drained loamy soil. its popular propagation method is veneer grafting. In mango, only 0.1% flower develops fruits to maturity. Flowering is a very sensitive stage in mango cultivation.

• Alphanso - Best export variety but susceptible to spongy disease, popular in Maharastra. Recently got a GI tag.
• Chausa- The sweetest variety of mango. it is a late variety. Grow in North India.
• Beganpalli- the most commercial variety of Andhra Pradesh.
• Bombay Green- The earliest variety of north India. It is also known as saroli.
• Kesar- Good processing quality. popular in Gujrat.
• Langra- North Indian variety, which has a characteristic turpentine flavor. Most prone to fruit drop.
• Niranjan- Ideal for long transportation, two crops are taken in two years. this is an off-season variety.
• Rosica- it is a mutant variety.
• Fazli- late maturing variety. commercially grown in Bihar and West Bengal.
• Dashahari- Grow in UP, best in medium ripening variety.

• Arka Puneet- it is a cross between Alphanso and banganpalli variety of mango. it is free from spongy tissue.
• Amarpali- it is a cross between Dashari and Neelam variety of mango. it is a dwarf variety and suitable for a kitchen garden for high-density plants. it is developed by IARI, New Delhi.
• Sindhu- It is a cross between Ratna and Alphanso variety of mango.it is the first seedless variety in the world, developed by kokan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dhapoli, MH.
• Mallika- It is a cross between Neelam and Dasheri variety of mango. it has the highest vitamin content. it is developed by IARI, New Delhi.
