So today our topic is FBO's rights and responsibilities in India.
In India, all food-related laws come under the food safety and standard act, 2006 and all laws execute under the Food Safety and standard authority of India (FSSAI). Which headquarter in Delhi
Fssai contains a total 101section that tell you all about the fssai.
But in today's blog, we will only know about FBO's related sections.
In section 26 of fssai described all the responsibilities of an FBO.
Every FBO ensures that the food article satisfies all the requirements of this act during processing, packaging and all the steps required for that food article meet all the standards according to the act.
Not any FBO manufacture, process or sell the food articles on behalf of himself or herself which food article is misbranded (sub-standard or contain any extraneous matter), unsafe, misleading,
Fbo can not manufacture, process, or sell any food article without a fssai license
FBO can not sell prohibited articles for the time being. Like in past nestle Maggie prohibited for the time being
Not any FBO hire any person who is suffering from infectious diseases
Not any FBO sell any food article to the vendor without a written guarantee (I.e bill, cash memo, invoice) with specific regulations
If any food is found unsafe then all food related to that batch or lot shall be presumed that batch or lot is unsafe and without any prejudice of authority. The competent authority takes appropriate measures of restrictions. And also prohibited for time being until FBO will not change the standard of food articles according to the act.
If a food safety officer comes to the FBO site for inspection here are some tips that may be helpful for FBO. Because the fssai act encourages the power of food safety officers so according to act fbo get advice from food safety officers that how to improve the hygienic condition at the establishment.
first, keep in mind that you are fbo and safe food is your responsibility. and food safety inspectors have the same goal also โโsafe food''. so rather than feeling inconvenience, you should talk with FSO that how to improve food quality and hygiene.
generally, FSO checking points are like the sink is clean or not, what type of water are you using for preparing for food means RO water or tap water, checking the staff personal hygiene, rodent insects etc should not present in premises, good food storage facilities without any adulteration in food, food factory/ resturant should away from any type of pollution which create off -odoure.
I know you all want to say that this is just a theoritaical talk or just an ideal situation. sometime maybe FSO wants harss you or sometime maybe they want bribe or some different kind of favor. but its not exactly the same you just know your right and the power of FSO according to fss act.
