As we know cattle is very important in all aspect. In India cattle use for worship(puja) of god. People use milk, dung, urine, and meat for different purposes. 

Today we talk about different breeds of cattle

• Sahiwal- its origin is Montgomery( Pakistan). it is the highest and sweetest milk-producing cow in India. it's known as Lola or Multani.

• Gangatiri - she can be found on the banks of Ganga river in Banaras in UP & Bihar states. they are milch variety, that gives about 10-15 liters/day of milk.

• Vechur- they found in vechur village of Kottayam district of Kerala. it is the world's smallest breed which an average height of 87cms. this breed has a very high resistance to disease and in its milk has healing power, used in making ayurvedic medical ghee. About only 200 cows are supposed to exist today, nearly 100 of them with the veterinary college and on the verge of extinction.

• Hallikar-  this breed originated in the former princely state of Vijayanagara( Karnataka). they are compact, muscular, and medium-sized. It was used in the war by the tipu sultan for carrying cannons.

• Mewati- they are found in the Mewat region, they are good milk-yielders.

• Malena Gidda- They are found in sager, hosanagar, teerthihalli, Shimoga, and bhadravati or the malenadu (coastal hilly) area of Karnataka. they are not only good milch cows but their milk has very good medicinal values.

• Tharparkar- the origin of this breed is the tharparkar district in the wind province of Pakistan. they are found in Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. this is known as thari. the males are good draft animals.

• Dangi- they are natives of Nasik and Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, called dangi ghats. they are known for their excellent workability in areas marked by heavy rainfalls.

• Kangayam- this breed originated in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. they are moderate size with compact bodies. the males are black or very, dark color on the head, hump, neck, and quarters. the bullocks are sold to cultivators for working on the black cotton soils.

• Rathi- this breed mostly found in Alwar( Rajasthan). they are also found in and found Bikaner district. the bullocks are adopted moderately for heavy plowing and road work.

• Bachaur- this breed is found in the sitamarhi district of Bihar. this breed has similarities with hariana breed. the males are known for their draft capacity & thrive under the poor conditions of feeding.

I only discuss some pure breeds of cattle. there are many other exotic breeds of cattle that are very good in milk yielder than pure breeds of cattle. some exotic breeds of cattle are like- Holstein Friesian, brawn swiss, jersey, etc.
