Nagamanithan's penance... Kannan's virtue... A truly thrilling story...!!

Why didn't Kannan die after being bitten by a snake?

Vedalam started narrating a story to Vikramaditan. In a town called Ratnapuri, due to the curse of a sage, a young man who was sometimes a snake and sometimes a man lived in the area adjacent to the forest of the town.

He was very fond of a young woman. Knowing about his curse, the girl refused to marry him. Worried about this, he went to a monk and repented of his condition.

To that the monk said, 'Since you are a human being, you have the human nature within you, if you keep it alone and do penance every night, you have a chance to become a complete human again. That's what Nagamanita was doing.

Rangan, a young man, was chased by wild animals and climbed a tree near the bush where this Nagaman lived.

He stayed in the tree all night and was surprised to see a dragon spit out Nagaratnam from a nearby bush, transformed into a human being and engaged in meditation.

At daybreak, Rangan saw the dragon-man transform back into a dragon, swallow his gem and disappear back into the bush.

The next day, he told his friend Kannan about this, if we have Nagaratnam, we can make even those who are dying of snakebites alive. So tonight we will take Nagaratnam from that Nagamanita, he said.

Both of them hid near the camp where the Nagamanita was and waited.

As usual, when the Nagamanita left his Nagaratnam and meditated, Rangan's friend Kannan took the gem and left.

The Nagamanita, tired of meditation, lamented that his ambition to become a complete man had been hindered by the theft of his Nagaratnam.

In the meantime, Kannan, who had taken the gem, cured the people who were bitten by snakes in the neighboring town and earned a lot of wealth with the gem.

One day when Kannan was coming to the neighboring town on the forest road, the snake-man realized that Kannan had his dragon and touched him. But Vedalam stopped the story by saying that Kannan did not die and at the same time the serpent also got rid of the curse and took human form.

Vikramaditya knew that it was Kannan who had stolen his dragon, but Kannan did not die even though he was touched by the Nagaman. The serpent also became a complete man again. How is this possible? is Vedalam.

To that, Vikramaditya Kannan took Nagaratnam and went and did the holy thing of saving the lives of others. Therefore Kannan, who had earned great merit, did not die even after touching the snake. He replied that after touching Kannan's holy body, the serpent also got rid of the curse and became a full man. On hearing this reply the Vetala flew away and climbed up the Moringa tree.
