HELLO AND WELCOME!!!
Hi, guys so I hope you all are doing well and all healthy. so today I am going to share a very personal experience of mine on why to go out of your comfort zone. Before starting I would like to give a little backstory to it. So I am currently in Tybcom and interning at a travel agency. So I am here to learn about this industry and my main job role is to promote their product over different social media platforms. So basically my work is a complete desk job in front of a computer/laptop which I am happy with and today something different happened which I was not ready to do.
So I was in the office and was waiting for some work to be given by the superior. In a while, I was called and asked to go to a client's house to collect payment and send some goodies to them. Now is the rainy season in Mumbai and I have to find that client's house address I didn't want to go to that place. But as it was asked to do by the superior I could say no even. I thought they would not give me any responsibility further. They might find me as difficult to work with or not obeying etc. I did not want to ruin my record I want to be a good intern with minimal complaints. So without any will, I had to go and I stepped out of the office.
As I stepped out I realized so many challenges in my way first was finding the address by myself. So being a Gen Z kid I used google maps and started riding. And as and when I went I could figure my way out sometimes the location was known to me, sometimes I asked the people around. And by this way, I reached the client's house. There were many hurdles in the way like it started raining when I was trying to find the address, then at times people I asked didn't know the address or lead me to some other way they felt that was right. But finally, I reached there and completed the work assigned to me.
Then I had to come back too. But it was easy now as I traveled the same way back to the office. On my way back I felt so good, confident and a feeling of accomplishment was felt.
I am proud of myself!! I know it's a very small thing to go to a place by yourself but still, it was out of my comfort zone and I step in that and came out confident.
So when I came back I was praised and thanked for finishing the work and I felt good. And the superior even said she is interning and we have to make her strong and bold. I felt that I am in this field so I have to be that outgoing person facing all odds.
That's it guys that was my experience of today and trust me you will feel way more confident and happy when you step out of your comfort zone rather than just chose to escape the situation and play it safe.
Thank you guys take care and stay safe.
