It takes less time to do something right than that to explain why it went wrong:
"you did that right", that's it. That's what we hear when we do something right but what do we get to hear when we end up doing something wrong?
When we are being cautious and taking all the necessary steps required to the job, we finish it completely and just right. Whereas when we are being too hasty and just want to get it over with, we tend to make mistakes and the result is not always in our favor. In the latter case, we are not bothered about the result, but are in a hurry and want to quicken the process. And as a matter of fact, it doesn't end here, in fact that's the mere beginning of having to deal with it. It is followed by many questions and in many cases lectures on why and how we did it wrong. The whole process of having to explain yourself is a much more lengthy job than to have actually done it. The person concerned naturally has all these questions to ask you. I believe when we are rushing, we overlook a lot of things and not even care to realise where we are going wrong. Which is why sometimes we feel trapped and might not even have the answers to those questions. It consumes more of our time to re-evaluate and think upon our mistakes or I must call it carelessness. It may even make you question your abilities and skills, which in turn could make you anxious and take even longer to explain.
On the other hand, had the job been done in the right manner, the consequences would have been entirely different. We wouldn't have to go through the entire question answer round. We might as well be appreciated for the job done right.
We all know that if we do one thing wrong, people point out fingers at us, but do we get enough appreciation when we do it right? Maybe, maybe not! But atleast, we don't get to be under spotlight for all the wrong reasons of not doing the task properly. Isn't that enough to let us go through the day? I mean, the day when we get appreciated isn't far away, I might add.
So why don't we just take a little extra time to do the task rather than being in a hurry and completing it no matter how efficient it is? Let's work towards giving our best, and helping ourselves from being the center of attention for reasons we don't like.
Always remember, quality surpasses quantity!!
