Tour timing-23rd December (2020) to 3rd January (2021)

It was on 23rd December (Wednesday) that we started our journey. I would try to give you my complete experience of the trip from the first day to the last day. I would also try to focus on the best things and the bad experiences also. The do's and don'ts would also be shared to you guys. I would share the details of the hotels and cars drivers wherever possible. The other distinctive details will also be shared in this blog. So please read till the last word of this blog. Hope you get to enjoy the tour from my eyes…!!!!😊😊😊😊😊

Day 1(23rd December 2020)

Our train was from the Sealdah station in Kolkata. Our team was to start the journey at 4.30 pm in the Rajdhani express. We hired an OLA and reached the station at about 3.45 pm. Then the train reached station in regular timing. So we could check into the train in correct timing.

Do's-I would suggest the travelers to carry home made food in disposable boxes for the dinner and morning breakfast also.

There are 4 solid reasons for this .First reason is that there is no free food available in Rajdhani in this pandemic.

Secondly, the food sold in the train is not that great as Rajdhani used to provide previously.

Thirdly, the food available in the station is not at all cheap.

Fourthly, its good to carry home made food in the pandemic as its hygienic and also saves a lot of money . And Himachal trip with a team also is not very cheap. So saving money this way could help in the long run.

So we had our dinner at about 9pm and we went to sleep at 10 pm. The train is very comfortable with centrally controlled A.C and many other facilities like

  • charging points
  • Night lamp
  • Sanitizer in the toilet
  • Regular cleaning of the sitting places

But there was no blankets or pillows provided in the train as Rajdhani previously used to provide before the lockdown.

you can have a pretty relaxing night if you wear some light cloth. Although in December but people wearing woolens or Cotswool or heavy cloths or socks cannot enjoy the night sleep. I am an example to have suffered due to heavy clothes.

Then we got up by 8a.m and freshened ourselves. and had our home made breakfast. This food was “ Saboodana khichdi” which remains good for several hours. This was around 9 a.m. This food is dry and the taste is intact for hours within disposable boxes. We carried some 12 boxes of it. THIS WAS VERY ECONOMICAL FOR A BUDGET TRIP LIKE US.

This is my smallest team member aged 2.5 years only.
