You Who Came From The Stars (a kanu You Who Came From The Stars) is a fantasy melodrama that tells the story of Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun), a 400-year-old alien with superhuman abilities trapped on Earth. He wanted to go home, but everything changed when he met a popular actress named Cheon Song-yi (Jeon Ji-hyun).

You Who Came From The Stars took the drama world by storm in late 2013. Korean and international popularity is very high, and this drama certainly has a lot to offer.

Min Joon was living a boring life waiting to get home. He struggled to maintain friendships and had only one close friend, an elderly gentleman named Young Mok (Kim Chang Won).

But his world is turned upside down by the sophisticated and demanding actress Song Yi. And what a treat she was! You Who Came From The Stars was Jun Ji-hyun's first drama since 1999 as she is primarily a film actress. She was simply made for this role.

Her comical timing is impeccable and will make you laugh at the simplest of lines. A little goofy, but strong personality, the exact opposite of Minjun's cold and hard personality.

Although it is a modern drama, it is unique in that it includes scenes from this period. If you're new to history, this drama is a great introduction, as these scenes are very entertaining and really undermine the politics that can be a bit heavy-handed in most historical stories. The compatibility between the two is very good. Despite Song Yi's crazy antics, it feels mature and great to watch

I have to give props to who is possibly my favorite kdrama villain, Lee Jae Kyung (Shin Sung Rok).  His confidence and villainous smile are perfection for the role.  He will do whatever it takes to get what he wants…including murder.

Some of my favorite scenes were his showdowns with Min Joon.  The intensity was fabulous, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching him go from cocky to confused by Min Joon’s abilities.  If you enjoy Shin Sung Rok, be sure to check out the Korean version of Liar Game.  His villainous role is very similar, and he was the highlight of the drama for me.
