Mamata Banerjee became the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the third time after winning the Assembly vote in 2021. As the Chief Minister, he is going to start the process of his most exemplary project "Duare Ration".

As announced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Food Department stepped in to deliver rations to consumers. Food department have started officially inquiring about the way in which the ration project will be implemented at the door. They have assumed that the biggest hurdle in implementing this project may come from the ration dealers. Therefore, specific proposals have been sought from the representatives of the Ration Dealers Association. News is also being taken about how the door-to-door ration project is going on in other states.Food department officials said the final outline would be worked out after talking to all parties.

Rathin Ghosh has just taken charge as the Food Minister. He said that ration at the door is the dream project of the Chief Minister. Ration scheme will be launched at the door as soon as possible. He will soon discuss this with the officers.

Strict bans have been imposed in the state since Sunday to prevent corona infection. Shops, government and private offices will be closed for the next 15 days. Traffic is also being banned. As a result, the food department is trying to keep the ration service running even if the normal life of the state is disrupted. 
Vishwambhar Basu, secretary of the All India Fair Price Shop Dealers Federation, said in a press release that the ration service would not be disrupted in any way even if strict controls were put in place for the next 15 days to curb the spread of corona infection. Ration is an emergency service. All ration dealers in the state have been informed of the decision.
Before the election, Mamata Banerjee had announced that if the Trinamool returned to power, rations would be introduced at the door. People don't have to go to ration shops anymore. They will get ration at home. Trinamool also spoke in the manifesto. Therefore, the food department has now turned a blind eye to the ration project at the door.
A top official of the food department said, ‘Andhra Pradesh’ is the only state in the country where a door-to-door ration project has been launched. After Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, door-to-door distribution of rations to the state began in February this year. Thousands of small vehicles have also been purchased to deliver ration food items from house to house. Subsidized rations are reaching different villages and mahallas by that vehicle. Packaged rice and wheat are being handed over to the customers.
Vishwambhar Basu said, 'The food minister wants cooperation from dealers to launch ration scheme at the door. The Food Department has asked us for advice on how to implement this project. Asked to offer three options. We will discuss among ourselves soon and give our statement. Bishwambhar said it would take a car to deliver rations at the door. That is why we have to hire extra people. Ration dealers will have to increase the commission. Now a fingerprint is taken on a ‘pos’ or point of sale device before giving a ration to someone. Ration dealers are worried about what will happen during the "Duare Ration" project.
