The trailer of The Family Man Season 2 was premiered on 19th May and the excitement of the audience was insanely crazy. The trailer of Season 2 hoarded a whopping 5 million views in 5 hours, trending on #1 and that is an impressive triumph on a first for any OTT show. When season 1 has got an overwhelming response it is very difficult to maintain the same pace of excellence in Season 2 likewise. The hype for season 2 was nuts among the audience.
The series was released a day before its release date. Now it's been a week since season 2 of The Family Man released and the response is massive. The series crossed the box office collection of 41 crores in just day 1 of its release. You may as an audience predict as season 2 to be a little pale because that's what happens when season 1 comes out to be a mega-hit, as you are already aware of the tips and tricks that might be occurring. But director Raj and DK along with dialogue penned by Sumit Arora and Suman Kumar came out to prove you wrong and leaving you swamped.
The series is ought to be a hit when it starred Manoj Bajpayee. Portraying the role as Srikant Tiwari, a TASC agent, a special cell of the National Intelligence Agency, Manoj Bajpayee did an exceptional job, making the audience believe that no other actor would fit in the role if it wasn't for him. Sharib Hashmi as JK was my personal favourite. From his ultra-fine humour to being a skilful TASC agent he was incredible. Moreover, Samantha Akkineni as Raji, an unwavering rebel fighter on a suicide mission did a splendid job. She was the cherry on top. She's been praised by everyone for her action sequences. Other than them the performance of each cast member was top-notch including Priyamani, Sharad Kelkar, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Sunny Hinduja, Darshan Kumaar, Dalip Tahil and Ashlesha Thakur among many others.
Whether it's JK, Srikant's son Atharv or the little banter among the TASC agents added a touch of subtle humour to the story making it a lighthearted one. Also, the chemistry between Srikant and JK was remarkable. Their bond on and off work was admired by everyone.
Apart from the cast, the storyline was remarkable. In my opinion, this could be the best web series of 2021. The action, the thrill, the ultra-fine humour everything was perfectly balanced. I believe The Indian Cinema should create more exposure to these categories of films and web series. Season 1 has nine episodes and Season 2 has nine episodes too. You can binge the series in a day or two. But let me warn you once you start watching it there's no going back. You cannot resist yourself from the next episode once you finish the previous one.
On the contrary, the only critic is the excessive use of the Tamil language making it difficult to comprehend for the audience that doesn't understand the language. However, the story was all about the Tamil rebels and being mostly shot in South India, the Tamil language is ought to be a part of it.
Also, the episodes range from oddly 30 to 60 minutes which is not hard to believe due to all the controversy against the series because of rage towards Family Man as ''season one hurts the sentiments of Muslims while the second season allegedly showed Sri Lankan Tamils in poor light'' as said by Naam Tamilar Chief (NTK). We'll never know whether the released version of the series is what it was originally supposed to be or if it is altered and edited to cut it short. But despite all the obstacles the series is here for the audience with a massive bang response. All said an incredible story is an incredible story.
So if we ignore this critic makes the show an awestruck one. I would certainly recommend the show to the ones who haven't watched it yet. The Family Man Season 2 was everything we hoped for from the outstanding cast and storyline. With the news of Season 3 coming up I am already eager to watch it.
