Be Aware Of The Food Products You Were Using

Many product we are using in our day to day life is ADULTERATED.., Adulteration is a process of adding a some substances in order to increase their shelf life.

There are various types of adulteration and some of the commonly used adulterant I'm going to share with you my fellow bloggers.

Natural adulterant: these are the most common adulterant that seen naturally in food materials. For example Fish is naturally having some adulterant in it and does not cause much harm to living beings.

 

Intentional adulterant: this intentional adulterant are made by the man in the name of organisation's profit. This is done to make more profits of that product. For example Milk is the ultimate example for intentional adulterant. With milk they add chalk powder, water to increase its quantity and it will result in poor quality.

Non intentional adulterant:  This type of adulterant are occurring accidentally during the storage and transportation or packaging of the product. For example Rice during transportation it can mixed with certain unhygienic substances.

Effects of adulterant: 

  • Adulterant are really harmful to the body and  adulterated food increases the toxicity of the body.
  • The additional chemical substances in the adulterated food can produces carcinogens and can be fatal too.
  • Some adulterants also harm the organs of the body and reduces the overall function of the body.
  • Prolonged consumption is very dangerous than other parameters. 

How to be alert from adulterant:

  • Always buy food that are sealed or approved by FSSAI - Food safety and standard authority of India 
  • Don't go for processed food like jams, pickles, cup noodles etc..,
  • Wash and soak your fruits and vegetables for atleast 30 minutes in a luke warm water and then start cooking.
  • Buy all your groceries in one or two shops regularly and don't believe in offers and all.
  • See the manufactured date and date of expiry before buying of goods.
  •  Don't buy products if the cover is unsealed or opened.

These are the basic things can be followed by illterates also.., do share this tips  with them also to create awareness among the human population.

I personally found some products adulterated by checking the products. Some of the adulterated products find by me was black pepper, sugar, honey, milk, turmeric powder etc..,
