Life is precious. It's mysterious, comes with numerous twists and turns, and is extremely unpredictable, which I think is a good enough reason to embrace it. It doesn't always have good things to offer us. Sometimes you feel life is unfair to you, but the truth is, it teaches you to survive in every situation.
Every one of us has been given the gift of life. Each one of us has our reasons and motives to live. Instead of choosing the numerous reasons to live, some people decide to let their fears take over them. Yes, there are ups and downs in life, and sometimes you may find yourself in situations where you think that the world has turned its back on you.
You begin to feel vulnerable, and it becomes easy for you to insinuate that everyone is your enemy. There are emotions and thoughts that you bury within yourself, without thinking about their consequences and the pain that they cause you. You feel abandoned, and a desperate urge to end your pain and misery takes over you. And that is when you tend to take life for granted.
You feel so vulnerable that you lose control over your thoughts, and it's your thoughts that lead to misguided actions. Suicidal thoughts like "I am better off dead" and "it's the only way to end this suffering" come across your mind quite often. You feel that there is no other way of coping with life. To end this misery, you consciously consider the possibility of ending your life, which eventually leads you to think about different ways to end it. You get so caught up with your thoughts that you forget to focus on the facts of the situation, and instead find creative ways to hurt yourself when you can find a way of getting your hostility out without hurting anyone, including yourself. Yet you choose to end your life since you feel that is the only way to end your problems.
The irony is, suicide is a permanent end to temporary problems. It doesn't take your pain away. It only passes it on to your loved ones. It not only ends the possibility of life getting worse but also eliminates the possibility of it ever getting any better. Ending your life is not the answer to any problem.
No situation is hopeless. There is always a ray of hope that things can get better. Maybe not today, but someday. So don't ever give up. You are alive for a reason. You have the power to say that this is not how my story will end.
So, unfold your potential and take it as a setback, not a final failure. There will be times when you fall. It's all right to feel weak sometimes because that is what makes you stronger. Just don't lose hope, give yourself a break, talk to someone, take therapy, pursue a hobby, but don't brood on anything that is hurting you. Life is a gift! Why throw it away?
