Empowering women means empowering the future of our society. Women must be given equal opportunity in every single field, irrespective of any discrimination. Women feel empowered when they are able to access opportunities in an array of fields such as an education, profession and lifestyle. We should embolden them by bolstering their decision to take up jobs, higher education, business activities, etc. And that is what LADLI FOUNDATION TRUST, a non-profit organization, is doing for the last 10 years.
This NGO was founded in 2012 by Mr. Devendra Kumar who was born in a high crime-prone slum of Delhi Dakshin Puri where he commenced his journey when his parents left him alone at the age of two with an infant sister. It is an internationally recognized NGO. It is a registered entity under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, Niti Aayog, and officially associated with government departments in India and Delhi Police.
Ladli has been known to bring remarkable changes in society through its unique initiatives. Further, the Ladli Foundation has also gained the reputed special consultative status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council. With a mission of building a safe, gender-neutral, and inclusive society, the foundation has been assiduously working in 50 districts and 10 states in India.
Ladli Foundation has organized several campaigns to bring new positive initiatives in the society to help not only the underprivileged women but also children & young students as well. Project Saheli, an initiative to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene management for the development of underprivileged females in slums. Josh, an initiative to help diverting boys from drug abuse and crime by involving them in physical training and reward-based tournaments. Pathanshala, an initiative to provide basic education to underprivileged children in slums. Ladli had also organized mega-events to mobilize support at the regional and national levels.
Recently Ladli foundation has started a new initiative “The Inspiring Women” for those impoverished women who face gender-based violence and exploitation. They depend upon their husbands' income for food, shelter and other basic amenities. Those women can earn their own and live her life on her own terms instead of sacrificing herself every time. It is an effort towards uplifting the deteriorating condition of women by advancing them towards financial empowerment.
