COVID or Coronavirus is not originated just now. It also has a history. It was originated in China in 2002 and named a severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and another disease Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) which was found in Saudi Arabia in 2012. The main reason behind such kind of virus outbreak is somewhere is the huge population and their life style. The congested life style and animal eating habits originate such kind of disease. The current pandemic was originated from the Wuhan city of China in December from one of its animal markets. The first case was found in China and from there it was spread to the whole world. After the spread of this infectious disease started to the whole world the transmission and mortality started rising slowly.

In January the World Health Organisation (WHO) announced this as an international concern and later when the cases were increased exponentially in march it was declared as a pandemic. After this, the medical teams of the whole world respond to it and start analyzing its pattern of host-virus interaction. What are its genomic sequence and a lot more. To help the world the information data starts flowing from one nation to another. Now, this disease becomes a major global issue for the human world. In the early days, the symptoms of this infectious disease were divided into two symptomatic and asymptomatic. The patient has the symptoms like high fever, cough, sneezing, loss of taste, loss of smell are symptomatic patients and if they were not cured on time then this disease will become pneumonia and later death due to organ failure. In another case, the patient was infected but have no symptoms but they are the active carriers of the viruses. So the fast detection and avoid its community spread becomes the major concern throughout the world. This virus infects the respiratory tracts of the human-like Nose, throat, lungs, etc, and later causes shortening of breath. In the early days, there was no specific detection kit was there and no specific medicine to cure this disease. So at that stage the techniques which are used for the detection are:

  1. Reverse-Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR)
  2. Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP)
  3.  Lateral Flow Test
  4. Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)
  5. CRISPR

Now there are Various antigen-antibody based detection kit is available which gives the report in minutes. They are fast easily applicable technique and easy to handle one
