this blog is also about korea. i must be a fan of korea lately i have been into this and writing a lot on this. so i think this will be last one but not.
so let's discuss about food in korea. korean food is quite different to ours not quite but a lot. koreans can't live without rice. they eat a lot of rice. they feel a true korean should eat rice to stay healthy.
so mostly they eat plain rice they don't mix with curries like us. they eat stew and rice separately . so there are a lot of foods koreans like actually the fact is they like food. anything in the form of food they like it.
the most favorite foods are kimchi stew (stew made with kimchi), kimbap (rolls made with seaweed and rice), bibimbap (mixing rice and kimchi and other), bulgogi (marinated beef barbeque), japchae (fried noodles), ttoekbokki ( spicy rice cakes), tofu stew, ginseng chicken soup, soondae (blood sausage), naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), stir fried octopus and so on……
there are a lot to say, and there are more i know, in the process of knowing their culture i got to know that kimchi is very good to health. kimchi has probiotic solids which are good to clear acne and build collagen. kimchi is simply pickled vegetables adding some spices and herb salts. koreans can't live without kimchi. their meals doesn't complete without kimchi as their side dish.
most famous dish in korea is ttoekbokki which means spicy rice cakes, 99% of koreans like this dish. it is a bit costly but most of them earn money to eat it. stir fried octopus and stir fried squid are also their favorites.
most of the koreans love to drink . koreans drinking culture is very open and they are all deep drinkers. they can't live without soju and beer. so they have very bad hangover. koreans make a special stew on the hangover morning called haejang guk. they have it with rice on the morning as breakfast.
spices of korea are very important, though they don't eat spicy food they make sure to use spices in a very small amount, some of them are sesame oil, gochujang( chilli pepper paste), gochukaru(chilli flakes), daenjang(soybean paste) , soy sauce, garlic, ginger, scallions are the spices they use everyday but their food doen't taste spicy.
most favorite late night snacks of koreans are ramyeon and pork cutlets. in korea ramyeon means netflix and chill with a person you like. pork cutlets are fried just like fried chicken.
