Science is a branch of philosophy. Until the 19th century, Science was called natural philosophy, when theories were proven right they were no longer philosophy and became science. Philosophy is spiritual knowledge that travels in one direction while science is physical knowledge that travels in the opposite direction. Science tries to find ways to explain details in every fact known to make use of while philosophy tries to look at the larger picture and understand the interrelations. Science tells what it is, while philosophy says what it should be. Scientists try to find new inventions and add value to existing ones, while philosophers try to prove the one which he already knows. In Simple words, a scientist starts from the beginning while a philosopher from the end.

When someone asked Dr. Kalam sir once, do you believe in god? He replied I don't know whether god exists or not, but I believe there is some force or energy that governs the law of the universe, there is a supreme force that rules the motions of planets in their orbits and around the sun for billions of years as far we have known, we don't know what that force is but there exists a supreme power! Physics is a science of the natural world, more specifically dealing with the matter, energy, time, space, and forces that govern this universe. These are proven and static, but when science cannot explain important questions it becomes metaphysical and philosophy begins. 

Yes, we all know that the entire universe exists according to the Cosmic plan and follows quantum theory. But planets revolve around the sun like electrons around the nucleus in an atom. But the question is who put the planets in motion? who gave the gravitational power to the sun to hold the planets right in their orbits, on top of all, who created the universe? If it was god, who controls god? Who controls him to create this universe? What is the source and origin of this universe? or when is the end of this universe? If the universe emerged from a single point as per big bang theory, what is the origin of that point? Why is there life only on earth or is there or parallel universe where life exists? Even when we deviate from the broader perspective, coming to the purpose of life, why are we born? what is the need? why are we here?

The questions about the reality of life, death, soul, spirituality, time, the existence of ghosts, afterlife theory, and reincarnation, have been haunting human life for thousands of years. These cannot be answered by science and is purely metaphysical. Most of the metaphysical questions are so far from the final answer and the arguments about this are never-ending. It seems metaphysics is just a maze with no end or escape.

We can't deny the fact that science and technology together have given the modern world in which we live, still, we are way behind in understanding the ultimate reality of the universe. Why I chose to write about this topic is, in our day-to-day life we keep worrying about so many things, our present, future, family, money, so many, but the fact that our very existence on this planet or universe is still a wonder and unproven, the purpose is unknown. So rather than worrying about the mysteries of life and the world, let's just feel blessed with what we have and believe what we want to believe.
