Israel is a middle east country on the Mediterranean sea which was established on 14 may,1948.It's a Jewish country ; Jews from all over the world  gathers there  and formed their own country with missionary enthusiasm. Israel is having a diverse topography but most of the areas are covered with deserts . Red and Mediterranean sea are also present which increases the  coastline area too and diversifies its topography too. Soil in the most part of the Israel was  saline as well as arid or semi-arid. When Israel was established it has approximately 20% of the arable land present for agriculture and farming. Being an agriculture student I found this topic interesting and wanted to share it with everyone.

Presently, they had tripled the area of farming and arable land also increased from the day of establishment. One of the important fact about Israel is that it is the only country in this world which has more trees in present than 50 years ago they had. Currently their natural vegetation is very rich ;around 2800 plant species has been identified in that arid regions. Israel's agricultural success is very much appreciable work and a great lesson for country like India which have the best climate ,topography and the most important arable land which favors agriculture in all aspect but then also we have to be dependent on other countries for some food items.

How Israel reach at this highest peak in agriculture from its lowest position? It's just because of healthy and good cooperation among farmers, agricultural industries , scientists ,researchers and technological workers working day night in the field. 17% of Israel's budget is used for research and development in agricultural activities. They produce 90% of its food requirements. They have developed various advance technologies to enhance their agricultural productivity. Like -They have developed a “Plastic tunnel ” which is a device used to cover the plant from plastic to save it from large amount of water and holes are made at certain distances so that plants can easily breathe. The main plantation crop of Israel is Cactus and the species of cactus they produce are edible. The drip and micro irrigation facilities in Israel is of modern technology as they self clean the pipelines and manage the flow rate accordingly need of crops. One of the world leading irrigation company is Netafirm which is Israel based company .They use “Thermal Mapping ”
for measuring water status of crops. many countries like India are practicing  cultures like pisciculture ,apiculture which is very common to all countries but Israel practice algae culture which is rarest and have been very beneficial to them. They have an advanced technology in which water is reused after desalination by plants; through this there is less wastage of water too.
