But something else on the outskirts of the town made him forget about drilling. He couldn't help but notice that there appeared to be a lot of people wearing unusual clothing as he waited in the customary morning traffic bottleneck.

The outfits you observed on young individuals were amusing! He assumed that was some ridiculous new trend. He beat the driving wheel with his fingers.

The fact that some of them weren't young at all infuriated Mr. Dursley; after all, the man in the emerald-green cloak had to be older than he was. The

foolish stunt — it's evident that they were raising money for whatever...
That would be it, yes. After a brief delay caused by traffic, Mr.Dursley entered the Grunnings parking lot with thoughts of exercises in his head.
In his ninth-floor office, Mr. Dursley always sat with his back to the window. If he hadn't, it might have been more difficult for him to focus during the morning's drills. He was blind to the owls flying by in broad daylight.

However, Mr. Dursley had a flawless average morning without owls. Five separate persons received his yells.

Before passing a group of them next to the baker's, he had completely forgotten about the folks wearing cloaks. As he passed, he gave them an angry look. They unnerved him for no apparent reason.
He couldn't see a single collecting tin, but this group was also excitedly whispering. He passed them on his way back, carrying a bag of huge doughnuts.

Mr. Dursley froze in mid-sentence and said, "The Potters, that's right, that's what I heard yes, their son, Harry." Fear overcame him. He appeared to be ready to address the whisperers as he turned to face them again, but he decided against it.
