Shiva (Naga Chaitanya) is an honest and routine police officer who struggles with finding love and getting married. How did Raju (Aravind Swamy), a notorious crook, get him into such a mess?

A gang wants Raju murdered, and Shiva unintentionally turns out to be the hero. The fundamental premise of the film is who wants Raju dead and whether or not the story has a twist.

The prologue to Custody reads like the worst nightmare a person could have. Everything that can go wrong does as things spiral out of hand. The year is late 1990s. As would be predicted, the rest of the plot is affected by this tragedy. That conflict is addressed considerably later in the narrative, when the audience least expects it, by writer and director Venkat Prabhu. He makes advantage of it to lend emotional weight to one of the main characters' actions. Several of the director's trademarks can also be found in his Telugu-Tamil bilingual with Naga Chaitanya, Arvind Swami, and Krithi Shetty. Venkat Prabhu excels at adding laughter to the story without making the tough times less intense. These sections benefit this action entertainer and assist viewers ignore

With the appearance of CBI agent George (Sampath Raj) and the criminal Raju, or Raazu as he prefers to be called (Arvind Swami), the plot picks up steam. One night, there is well-staged turmoil at the police station, which results in a moment of heroism. In most films, the constable, criminal, and CBI officer on the run from formidable opponents might have played a significant role in the narrative. Venkat Prabhu introduces humorously charged personal conflict spots. Prem (Premgi Amaren plays this role in Tamil) and Revathy are brought to the forefront by Vennela Kishore.

Raju and Shiva are compelled to reconsider their ideas of what is good and wrong and who is saving whom as new characters, such IG Nataraj (Sarathkumar), enter the scene. When the two characters interact with one another, there are applaud-worthy moments. However, in the later parts, an emotive plot and a lacklustre song sequence ruin a flashback that introduces another star actor.

We have high expectations for the collaboration of Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja, however the songs are in no way memorable. However, the background sc ore is respectable. Amazing cinematography was done by Kathir, who used lighting to create the desired mood and tone. The production values are respectable. Although the overall quality was not so outstanding, some of the scenes appear extremely grand. Venkat Prabhu's writing is entirely to blame for "Custody's" problems. Although the plot is intriguing, the screenplay fell flat. There is not a single thrilling scene in this film, and the riveting narration that thrillers require is missing. Venkat Prabhu too failed to demonstrate his mark during taking.
