How to reach Bhutan?

I)By Plane

The best way to reach Bhutan is by plane.The only international airport in Bhutan is in Paro and it is called Paro International Airport.It has connecting flights from various cities.

II)By Train

There is no direct route to Bhutan.If you are an Indian citizen and you reside in Kolkata then you can reaach Bhutan border by taking an auto or cab from Hasimara .From there you have to go through a check point and reach Phuentsholing ,one can take a bus or car to Thimpu.

1.THIMPU

MONASTERY

The name ‘Thimpu’ originates from a sinking stone in front of Dechenphu Monastery. Thimpu is the well known capital of Bhutan.There are many places to visit in Thimpu such as Taschichho Dzong , the National Memorial Chorten , Changangkha Lhakhang , National Folk Herutage Museum , Dechen Phodrang Monastery and so on. There are many things that one can buy when visit Thimpu such as Bhutanese handicrafts,hand-woven textiles,Gold and Silver Jewellery , Stoles and so on.

2.Paro

MONASTERY

Paro is the home to some of the ancient monasteries and temples of the world whose history traces back to the 7th century and holds various myths and folklore to their names.There are many attractions in Jangtsa Dumtseg Lhakhang Temple, Chele La Pass,Tiger's Nest , Namgay Astrisanal Brewery  and so on.The Paro International Airport is locate at a height of 2,235m.

Punakha lies at a elevation of about 5,000 feet above the sea-level at a point where several streams converge to form the Sankosh River. The town ,found in 1577 ,was once the capital of Bhutan.There aremany attractions in Punakha such as Punakha Dzong , Chimi Lhakhang , Khamsum Yulley , Namgyel Chorten , Talo and so on.

4.Phuentsholing

Phuentsholing is located in the Southern part of Bhutan.It is also the border of India and Bangladesh.It was said that this place was the home of kings and queens of the Himalayan kingdom.There are many attractions in Phuentsholing such as Bhutan Gate,Amo Chhu Crocodile Breeding Centre ,Karbandi Monastery , Torsa River side , Palden Tashi Chholing Shedra an so on.
