Due to globalization and modernization, the trends are modifying with the passage of time for the betterment of individuals life but these aspects brings both positives and negatives. One of the prominent in developing countries which is gaining popularity is none of other than tendency of smaller family size. Basically, there are several reasons which affected the society in different ways. Both the viewpoints are discussed in length and breadth in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, the principal cause of nuclear families is increased rate of education in the society. It can be explained as nowadays, individuals became more educated and do their jobs in towns and cities which are farther away from their homes. As a result, they preffered to shift to such places with their partner and offsprings. Another basic reason for such condition is modern lifestyle as in today's world, the life of people is changing with changing mind alongwith influence of western culture on them. To add, individuals want to be free from the rules and regulations of their grandparents due to generation gap that created difference in the thinking of people. They want to live their life as they want to live. Moreover, for more better facilities in cities, majority of masses preferred to shift there.
Moving further, smaller families helped to improve the living standard of people. It provided financial stability to individuals and also parents are in better condition to facilitate their children with luxuries, opportunities and better environment. Inspite of this, this made persons to take their decisions freely, also plan sleeping and eating habits and make new customs or rules in a nuclear family. However, it also put negative impact by increasing the gap between family members. People rarely get chance to meet their aunts, uncles and grandparents of extended family. It also suffered grand parents whon want to live with their children in their decaying age.
In conclusion, it can be reinstated that many causes made a trend of smaller families in developing countries having advantages to the family as well as society while some limitations can not be discarded.
