The Story's synopsis :
The story begins with the introduction of the hero Vallavarayan Vandiyathevan. Vandiyathevan, a charming young warrior, was said to be the prince of the earlier Banas in the Chozha dynasty and a friend of Aditakarikalan, the Chozha kingdom's crowned prince. He sets out as a messenger sent by the crowned Prince Aditakarikalan to deliver a message to the Chozha Emperor, Sundarachozha, and later to the princess Kundavai, sister of Aditakarikalan and Arulmozhivarman. Kundavai, the princess, orchestrates a slew of schemes through Vandiyathevan to bring back Arulmozhivarman, who is in Sri Lanka. Arulmozhivarman has been for dynasty expansion and political stability in the empire, which appears to have been besotted with some internal unrest due to indiscreet plots by small chieftains.
Vandiyathevan meets Arulmozhivarman in Sri Lanka with the help of a boatwoman named Poonkuzhali, and the two become good friends. During his visit to Sri Lanka, Arulmozhivarman meets a deaf and dumb lady on a nearby island. Through her paintings, he discovers that she and his father Sundarachozha had an affair when he was young. It is also known that she has two children, but the father of the children remains unknown. Arulmozhivarman speculates on whether those two children have the right to ascend to the Chozha throne. In the meantime, while in Tanjore to meet the Emperor, Vandiyathevan witnesses Nandini, the queen of Pazhuvur, and the Pandya conspirators making an internal pledge to get the Emperor.
In response to his sister Kundavai's gesture, Arulmozhivarman is blotted out in a cyclone (thought to be a Tsunami) for a while while returning from Sri Lanka. There has been no word on his whereabouts, with rumours circulating that he may be dead. However, he is still alive, having been forced to stay at a Buddhist monastery in Nagapattinam due to an outbreak of virus illness at the time. After recovering from his illness, he returns to Chozha land to meet his sister and father and to reveal the truth about the deaf and dumb lady. Meanwhile, the conspirators, including Nandini and Pandiya dynasty followers, plot the assassination of Sundarachozha and his two sons, Aditakarikalan and Arulmozhivarman. Do these assassination plotters succeed?Do all these conspirators succeed in their extrajudicial killing, and who is crowned king in the end? The plot revolves around this plot. And, with a looks amazing in the final volume, the triumph of good over evil has been highlighted once more, owing to a number of plot twists all across the fiction.
