Hello fellow bloggers

Welcome to the next part of my winter special series. As you all know how much I love to share delicious food recipes with you people so how this series would be completed without a yummy recipe. This is the second blog of the series so you make sure to check the previous blog as well. Today I am going to share the matar curry recipe. Though all the vegetables are available throughout the year but it is beneficial for our health to consume seasonal vegetables.

The ingredients that are required to make matar curry-

  • Green peas- ½ cup
  • Chopped onion- 1
  • Chopped tomato- 1
  • Green chilli- 3
  • Coriander powder- 2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala- ¼ teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder- ¼ teaspoon
  • Oil- 4 tablespoon
  • Chopped green coriander leaves- 2 tablespoon

For gravy-

  • Onion- 2
  • Tomato- 2
  • Garlic- 4 cloves
  • Ginger- 1 inch
  • One handful of coriander leaves
  • One handful of mint leaves
  • Cashew nuts- 2 teaspoon
  • Cloves- 6
  • Cinnamon stick- 1 inch
  • Green cardamom- 1
  • Green chilli- 3-4
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon

Method to make-

Heat some water and add salt in it, now give it a boil and turn off the flame. Put the peas in this water for about five to six minutes then strain the peas out from the water and put them aside.

Now put a pan on the flame and heat the oil in it. When the oil is heated, add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, onion and green chilli. Keep on stirring it until the onion starts to turn brown. When it gets brown, add tomatoes and cook it until the tomatoes get soft. Now add cashew nuts, coriander leaves and mint leaves. Give it a nice stir and turn off the flame. Let this cool for sometime and once it is done then take a mixer and grind it to make a fine paste.

Take a pan and heat four tablespoons of oil in it. Add onion and cook it. Now add tomatoes, green chilli and cook it well. Now it is time to add peas, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala. After mixing and cooking it, add the prepared paste and ¾ cup of water. When it becomes thick, turn off the flame. Serve it in a bowl and to garnish add some chopped coriander leaves on the top.
