What you choose to eat before going to bed play a big role in your sleep and overall health. Most people blame their stress level, workload etc. but they do not consider the food that they eat at night. Each food has its different properties and timing to consume. Consuming at wrong time can cause heartburn, acidity etc. So always pay attention to eat at the right time. Here are five tips to eat at night for good and deep sleep.

Pistachio

To get a relaxing and deep sleep, you should eat pistachios at night. Along with nuts properties, it is known for a high level of melatonin which promotes sleep. Well, almost all plant foods contain this substance but pistachios have the highest level among all.

Yogurt- 

Generally, we eat yogurt to make our food more delicious and as we know it is one of the best source of calcium. It keeps our bones strong and is also connected to sleep, but very few people know that. The body system requires calcium to make melatonin from the amino acid tryptophan.

Pumpkin Seeds- 

Pumpkin is known for its tryptophan and magnesium richness. Consuming it with carbs such as raisins or fresh fruits help in good sleep. 

Eggs- 

Who doesn't know the benefits of eggs. It has all vitamins except Vitamin C. Including eggs in dinner can be a good habit. Eggs can be consumed in various ways. The simple way is to consume it as agg salad. Eggs are rich in protein and tryptophan and high in calories and supply hunger satisfying proteins.

Banana and Almond Butter- 

According to a study, the level of melatonin in the blood increases four times after eating two bananas. Almond also supply some melatonin. So for a better sleep, eat banana with unsweetened almond butter.

Try to avoid heavy food, junk food, caffeine (coffee, tea, soda, sugary snacks, acidic foods etc. at night. They take a lot of time to get digested thus create problems in the digestive system. This can lead to a bad sleep.

Good sleep is must to stay healthy and fresh. Do not compromise with your sleep just because of bad eating habits. Give enough time to digest your food . Try to avoid lying just after having your meal. A tight sleep keeps you energetic and keeps the mind fresh the next morning which makes you feel haapy.
