Some Tips For Oral Hygiene

We all know the importance of hygiene but sometimes we neglect it especially when it comes to oral hygiene. It causes problems of bad breath and issues related to teeth. Our teeth and oral cavity should be healthy. If we do not keep our mouth clean, it can cause cavities in the teeth and gum diseases which in turn increases the chances of mouth cancer, diabetes etc. Doing some simple efforts to keep ourselves clean can help us in preventing several kind of illness, pain and obviously paying hospital bills. For this, here are some things which should be followed to maintain oral hygiene- 

Massage of gums- Gums are like the base for strong teeth. To keep the teeth clean, the maintenance of healthy gums is necessary. For this, massage your gums with any oil of your choice like olive oil, Vitamin E oil or almond oil. Try this for about five minutes in morning and evening. Use your fingers and move them in circular motion.

Tounge cleaning- It is an important part of oral hygiene. You can use glycerine to clean the tounge. You can either apply glycerine on the tounge and remove it with cotton or dip the cotton in glycerine and use it for cleaning. It helps in getting a pink tounge and prevents the formation of bacteria in the oral cavity.

Some tips to follow regularly-

  • Gurgle 2-3 times after having any meal. Each time keep the water for thirty seconds in mouth.
  • Mix mint green tea and lemongrass oil and use it as a mouthwash.
  • Boil neem leaves in water and strain it. It can be used as a mouthwash.
  • Add salt in lukewarm water and use it for gurgling.
  • Brush your teeth two times a day. Sometimes we do not brush our teeth at night, due to our busy schedule or laziness, which increases the bacterial growth in the mouth.
  • Floss your teeth. It is a vital part of oral hygiene. It helps in disloging stuck food between the teeth and keep them clean.
Flossing
  • Try to take less amount of sugary substances. If you are eating something sweet, do not forget to gurgle.
