Hello everyone I hope you all are doing well.
Every culture has its own way to look at different things. There are several things which we can learn from different cultures to enhance our knowledge and get a different perspective. This blog is about German and Japnese culture and some of their interesting norms.
German Culture

  • If  someone has invited you to a restaurant then it is not mandatory in Germany that he is going to pay the full bill. You have to pay for your own food. Only if the person, who invites you, says that he is going to pay then only he would pay for the full bill.
  • You cannot invite anyone after 10:00 p.m. at your home because this time is considered as private and is for rest.
  • The first right to cross the road is of the pedestrian if you are working by food then you do not need to stop because other vehicles like cars I have to wait for the pedestrian to cross the road.
  • Germans always carry a bag with them when they go to buy some grocery.

It teaches us responsibilities towards environment how to behave and financial equality also.

Japanese culture

  • If you are going on a date then both the people have to pay bill it means they split the bill so that one person doesn't have to suffer financially.
  • If you are going to any restaurant, shop, garden or at home of any known person then you have to keep your footwear outside so that the place doesn't get dirty or infected.
  • You are given oshibori which means a wet towel at restaurant before having your meal. The towel is made wet using hot or cold water depending upon the weather. It helps in saving water.
  • In Japan, it is considered disrespectful to offer tip to anyone. If you are highly impressed by the job of a driver then you can put a money envelope in the car respectfully and can do similar in a restaurant.
  • Before having food, Japnese thank God by saying itadakimasu and they say gochisousama at the end of their meal to thank the person who cooked the food.

Japnese culture teaches us the lesson of cleanliness, respect towards other's work.

Thank you for reading this blog, I have tried to write something different from my usual topics. Suggestions are highly welcomed.

Stay safe, healthy and happy.
