𝑻𝒓𝒓𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒈𝒈𝒈…!
A single round of alarm is enough to awaken the soul who is excited to present the week-long practised speech!!
The freshly ironed bright white uniform was waiting to be worn with great pride. CHERRY is not only on the cake but also on canvas shoes to make them spotless bright (IYKYK), which is applied the previous night to make sure they are dry before time. The major task is to tie braids that look similar. Mom comes to the rescue when it comes to tying braids with newly purchased white ribbons. Dad didn’t get the chance to sleep further since auto wale bhaiyya is on official leave. In order to avoid the embarrassment caused due to the late-coming punishments, it becomes mandatory to reach school before the gates are closed for any further entries. (Teachers are the most creative creatures when it comes to punishing students😌)
Checking out herself one last time in the mirror while assuring dad who is calling her and waiting outside. “Comiiiiinggg”! She screamed & hurried down the stairs tucking her shirt in and adjusting the tie. On reaching school, She happily joined her group running towards the assembly ground. (The shoulders were weightless today😉)
The school seemed to be a garden with so many fresh white roses.
Teachers were draped in the most beautiful sarees and working hard to manage the arrangements for the event!
She was overwhelmed when she saw guard bhaiyya climbing on the flag pole and tying the rope. The enthusiasm among the pupils was clearly visible in their shiny eyes. As soon as the announcement of the chief guest’s arrival was made, everyone dispersed and took their respective positions. 3 rounds of customized claps and pin drop silence!!!
Her heart started pounding fast as the Chairman headed towards the flagpole.
All eyes were up looking at the summit of the pole, waiting for the rope to be pulled.
A young but confident voice came with the words, “EK SAATH RASHTRADHVAJ KO SALAAMI DENGE, SALAAMI Ek, Do, Teen!”
The way the hands moved in unison to salute the flag gave the impression of a machine that was completing the action flawlessly!
Her eyes witnessed the most beautiful view of hoisting the Tricolour which was proudly waving in the air testifying to the sacrifices of our revolutionaries…!
“Eksaath Rashtrageet Shuru karenge, Shuru Kar”
“Jana Gana Mana….!” Began the synchronous voices.
Everyone experienced goosebumps and felt a deep sense of patriotism during the moment.
The celebration would’ve lasted for a couple of hours with lots of speeches and cultural performances, but the memories will last forever in my mind..!!
This was the time in the early 2000s when the 90s generation was in school celebrating independence day with a bandwagon. Kids celebrating independence day on Instagram will never understand the joy of collectively singing the National anthem while looking at the Tricolour waving high in the air!
The king looks great in his own palace, similarly, the flag looks good on the flag pole only not on the balconies lying beside the dried clothes or on the terrace beside the antennas.
Tiranga, what we call it with utmost love, already has a permanent residence in our HEART, I don’t feel it necessary to hoist it at OUR permanent residence to prove that you are a Deshbhakt☺️
Happy 75th Independence Day 🇮🇳#HarDilMeTiranga
