In today's time when work from home has taken a prime role in all our lives, keeping employees motivated and engaged has become more challenging. This is especially the case with sales teams and leaders. Their field demands them to be on the field and execute their strategies and meet their targets and deadlines. In such a situation ‘Gamification’ has emerged as a unique and innovative strategy. In today's blog let us look at what is gamification and its benefits.

Gamification, as the term suggests is a strategy where a game-like competitive environment is created to engage the employees and help them achieve their targets in a particular time. It creates a fun-filled competitive environment. In this scenario, employees are made to compete by completing certain tasks assigned to them, and on completion, they are given badges and thus can proceed to the next level.

COMPONENTS OF GAMIFICATION:

Sales Contests: Occur in the form of contests and competitions. Helps in completing goals and deadlines in an easy and fun way. These can be set in between employees who are in the same position to evaluate their capabilities.

Leader boards: These are a way for creating awareness within the team of their standing. It helps one keep tabs on the topmost player creating a sense of awareness. 

Tokens/ Points and badges: Given as a reward on completion of tasks and achievement of targets.

Discussion Forum: A forum where new employees can learn and gain better knowledge. A place for healthy discussions fostering a learning atmosphere.

Thus, gamification can help in boosting sales and should be viewed as a value addition by any organization in the present scenario. It is also imperative to understand and identify which element or factor motivates and targets which type of employee. Gamification is the mere play of understanding the psychology of the workforce. 

Apart from all the thrill, the main goal of any gamification strategy should be getting the desired productivity and performance. It is a long-term process where the results have to be evaluated and the necessary changes made in time. It is a unique and innovative strategy if implemented and used in the right way. Thus the famous quote “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” can very well be applied here sales gamification is just the right blend of achieving targets in a fun way.
