When it comes to women's body and health, due to lack of education and information, it is difficult for young girls and sometimes even women to understand if it's a myth or truth. So here I am to clear the confusion and tell you if it's myth or truth.

MYTHS- here are some common myths that you may have heard at least once if you are a women and the clarification for the same
Myth1- Bras cause breast cancer
1 in 8 women develop breast cancer over the course of a lifetime and most of the time a woman gets cancer because they may have a history of cancer in their family.
Myth2- only men get kidney stone. kidney stones are small hard bits of minerals that pass through your urinary tract causing vomiting and severe pain in your back, side or pelvis .
One in 12 women suffer from kidney stone. A poor diet also increases your chances of getting kidney stones. So it's not necessary to be a man to get kidney stones. Kidney stones occur both in men and women.
Myths3- Cranberry juice cures UTIS ( urinary tract infection)
Cranberry juice may prevent bacteria from attaching into the bladder walls but researchers are still studying this question.
Myth4- I am not interested in sex, something must be wrong with me.
Having a low sex drive sometimes called hypoactive sexual desire affects many women. Hormone changes and stress can affect how often you want to have sex.
Myth5- menopause causes a woman to gain weight.
It is not true while menopause causes change where the weight is placed. Women will gain a pound in a year irrespective of when they go through the menopause.
Myth6- you have to take the birth control pill at the same time everyday.
Again this is not true. Many healthcare providers suggest women take the pill at the same time everyday so they remember to take it. It has not been proven that this is medically necessary.
Myth7- it's ok to use low dose brith control pills if you smoke.
It is not true. Smoking while taking oral contraceptives greatly increases the risk of serious side effects particularly cardiovascular ones.
Myth 8- the earlier you get your periods the earlier you will go through menopause.
False the average age a woman goes through menopause is 51.7 years. This is not affected by the age women goes through puberty the number of children she has family history or birth control use.
Due to lack of sex education and medical information as women's health and hygiene is considered a taboo, we believe in these misconceptions.
