A silent voice is an animated Japanese drama film released in 2016. It is a heart touching movie which will make you cry all night.

.Where to watch- Netflix

.Imdb rating- 8.2

.Plot :

Most of the movie is connected with the past of the characters. It all started when they were in 6th grade. A new student shoko nishimiya (female lead) joins shoya's (male lead) class. Shoko was deaf and couldn't speak much due to which she became easy target for shoya and his friends to bully. When the principal got to know about the bullying from shoko's mother, shoya was singled out and blamed for it. Shoya blames shoka for all the embarrassment and the two gets in in a physical fight. Shoko leaves the school and get transferred to another school. Shoya finds the notebook shoko left and keeps it.

Throughout the middle school shoya is left out because of his bully image. By the time he joined high school he became a loner and avoid any interaction with anybody. Shoko met Tomohiro nagatsuka , another loner and became friends with him when he saved him from another bully. Shoya goes to the sign language centre to return shoko's notebook. He wanted to apologize for his past and ends up being friends with shoya.

Shoya and shoko meets up again. Shoya accidentally drops shoko's notebook into the river. He jumps into water to get it. Yuzuru shoko's younger sister captures it and post it on internet to get revenge from shoya due to which he ends up getting suspended.  Shoya finds yuzuru who ran away from home . He helps her and brings her home and the two became friends.

Shoko and shoya meets an old acquaintance , Miyoko sahara from 6th grade. Later shoko gives shoya a present and confesses her feelings for him but as she tried to speak and not use her sign language, shoya was not able to understand what she was saying.

Shoya invites shoko to an amusement park with Tomohiro, Miyoko, Miki Kawai (another classmate from elementary school) and Satoshi Mashiba (Miki's friend). There they meet another classmate from elementary school, Naoka Ueno, who drags Shoko into a ferris wheel. She blames shoko for everything that happened in 6th grade . Yuzuru who was secretly recording everything shows shoya the video. Miki exposes Shoya's past to the students who were oblivious to it. Later, she attempts to apologize to the group, but Shoya blows everyone off after Naoka remains dismissive.

Shoya learns that shoko's and yuzuru's grandmother died to cheer them up he takes them to Countryside. He sees that shoko blames herself for everything. He Devotes his whole social life to the sisters.

During the fireworks festival, shoko leaves the festival to do homework and went home. Shoya follows her to her home but as soon as he reaches he saw that shoko was standing at the balcony ready to jump. He grabs her and save her but ends up falling in the river below. He was saved by one of his friends but fell into coma. To help him shoko meets all of his friends and tell them the situation between her and shoya.

One night shoko had a dream about shoya saying his goodbye. Terrified shoko runs towards the bridge she cries amd sat there. Shoya who woke up from his coma stumbled himself to the bridge. Where he finds shoko he apologized to her for how he behaved with her earlier. He asked her to stop blaming herself and start living with him. To which she agreed.

When shoya returns to the school he reconcile with his friends and realised how much they still care for him . He tears up looking at the friends and family he has now. Now he was able to look into the eye of people while talking. And the friends went to school festival together.

Review:

I personally liked the environment that they created in this movie, the animation was great. The story line has many emotional factors. The theme concentrates on anxiety and suicidal thoughts. How people are drawn towards this thought . This movie also highlights key factors of redemption and forgiveness. It's a must watch movie if you are feeling low . According the end shows that at last everything becomes just fine so don't push yourself to hard it's ok if there are hard times, the good times will also come soon.
