The Anxiety Land

Today, I am going to talk about a very common Mental health condition that is ‘ANXIETY’. 

Hey, We can talk about this, nobody is going to call us ‘Pagal’ for other irritating adjectives used to call people out just because they are a bit different then us. 

Anxiety is a clinical condition, in which a person feels overwhelmed with fear about various conditions like fear of some things or situations like fear of failing an exam, facing crowd, going away from a family member etc, along with characteristic physical symptoms like increased heartbeat, sweating, difficultly in focusing on a task, dry mouth, restlessness, tremors, insomnia, gastrointestinal discomforts etc.

As, it turns out Anxiety disorders are more common in women and adults fighting one or other kind of societal pressures, and also yes, It can be genetic also, influences by various environmental factors.

Your Fear Doesn't Defines You!!!! 

There are 6 types of Anxiety disorders:

  1. PHOBIAS: A person suffering from phobia feels irrational and unreasonable amount of fear when exposed to specific conditions. SO, a person tries to avoid the triggers which interfere with their normal life functioning.
  2. PANIC DISORDER: Person suffering from a panic disorder experience intense episodes of fear. In their panic episode a person might feel out of control or feels is if he/she is dying.
  3. GENERALIZED ANXIETY DISORDER: Person suffering from GAD lives in a persistent state of unrealistic worry most time of their days they can suffer with the symptoms for as long as 6 months before diagnosis.
  4. OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER: A person suffering from OCD experience fear of germs most commonly and have obsessive thoughts and compulsive behavior. They tends to recheck their actions again and again and are conscious about their surrounding all the time.
  5. SEPARATION DISORDER: Mostly happens in children but adults suffer from it too. It is most common childhood anxiety disorder. Children and adolescents continuously suffer from a fear that someone or something gonna leave them, it might be fear or separation from their parents, friends or  can even be their favorite toy. Symptoms are so clinically relevant that it might hinders their overall development.
  6. SOCIAL ANXIETY DISORDER: People suffering from this disorder felt that they are being judged whenever they face the society, they are so sacred that they feel uncomfortable doing even simpler tasks in front of them, they think that they might embarrass themselves in front of others.

So, if you are feeling any symptoms of anxiety.Please read with your eyes open that ‘ You are not crazy, you are not your fear and you can and will definitely get better’. 

TRY THIS

  • Do logical reasoning with your anxious thoughts.
  • Go, Get help.
  • Yoga surely helps.
  • Develop a hobby.
  • Try to take control over you thoughts.
  • Figure out what triggers you.

TRICK: When you are having anxiety episode.

Close your eyes.

Inhale count 1..2…3…

Hold count 1…2…3…

Exhale count 1…2…3…

REPEAT

Figure out 5 things you can touch,smell,see and taste.

REPEAT.
