How I Made A Chocolate Ganache Cake!
The occasion was a cousin's birthday celebration.
I have never baked before, though I've seen the process very closely and very often since the lockdown! I did not even believe that I could, I just hoped that it should not turn into a complete blunder.
A baker would say what an easy cake to make. Well I must agree that it was comparatively easy, because it did not involve making a frosting and all that hard work.
Starting off real simple I used a premix! Greased the mold really well and even used a butter paper so that the cake came out as one piece.
HERE ARE THE STEPS:
- Mix the batter to a thick but flowy. Add water bit by bit. Once the batter is pored in the mold tap it to get rid of any bubbles.
- Then I had a set up of the most Indian oven a kadhaie. Put some salt or sand and heat it on a stove.
- Then I put the mold in the kadhaie and covered it to seal the hot waves inside to create a oven kind of situation.
- Within 30-35 minutes the cake was properly backed. To check it's status I poked a knife in the cake which is supposed to come out clean if the cake is done.
- To make sure the cake came out as whole, I let it cool of half an hour while it was covered with a cloth so that the top does not dry out.
- Mean while, I made the sugar syrup using equal amount of sugar and water and heating it only until the sugar had completely melted.
- Now it was time for the ganache! First I chopped the chocolate compound [200gm] and put it in a bowl. Then kept the bowl on a set up with boiling water at the bottom.
- Keep on steering the compound until it is liquid. On other side heat 250ml of Amul Fresh Cream until it just starts to bubble. Then mix both ingredients.
- To have a thick consistency refrigerate the ganache.
- Cut the cake in layers, spray the sugar syrup, and when it is socked you can spread the ganache.
- Lastly decorate the cake as you wish and let it set in the refrigerator.
That is how easy it was. I made a cake for the first time in my life and it turned out to be very testy.
Even you can give it a try!
