Movies And The Lessons They Taught Me

We all love to watch movies. It helps us visualize the scene and make us feel that someway or the other we are a part of it. I guess I am talking somewhat like what was narrated in Drishyam.

People often say “ Jo movie mein hota hai, wo asli zindagi mein nahi hota” I mean it is true to an extend. I mean how can you hit ten people with a single punch. But the lessons it gives us is truly valuable. It does gives us an insight about life.

Recently I have started watching a lot of animated movies and I am going to share a bit about “What is the movie all about” and the life lessons I have learnt from them.

  1. Kung Fu Panda.

I woudn't mind if you call me an late bloomer but this movie has created a mark. Po and his friends ( furious five) and dont forget Master Shifu never failed to entertain us. He never lacked self love and always stayed a kid at heart which we avoid a lot as we feel proud to call ourselves “ GROWN UP”.

He taught us how to find inner peace by making peace with our past and not dragging it along. Importantly he also taught us what it is meant to be “US”. We keep comparing ourselves with others and feel discouraged when we cannot be like them. Why should we be like them? Why cant we be us. Why cant we find out who we are and what is that thing we can do best which no one else can? Lets stop comparing ourselves with others and start accepting our flaws. I mean can anyone fight with a squeeshy tummy Po has…. only he can….

    2. A Good Dinosaur

Arlo, the Apatosauras is the youngest in the family never got a chance to make his mark by doing something great. Unlike his parents and siblings who have already created an impact by doing something beyond their capabilities. There is a saying “ Geheri dosti kabhi kabhi dusmani se shuru hoti hai”

Spot, a young caveman later becomes his pet human shares a difficult journey back home helping each other after Arlo got lost. Arlo taught me the real power of “Love and letting go”. You can never cage love. It is supposed to be free. If you feel that it is important that the person or thing should stay with you because you love them, then trust me it is nothing more than an obsession. Arlo put his life on the edge to save Spot from hungry Nyctosaurus. He really wanted him to come home with him. But when time comes he let him go because he understood that he will be way more happier living with a family of caveman.

   3. The Croods

"We are the Croodsss", haha, thats how they introduce themselves, a perfect Indian type joint family but from The Stone Age. This movie perfectly depicts the saying" We become what stories we tell ourselves".

Grug the father wanted to keep his family safe and therefore always believed that it is important to be sacred and staying away from New things. But when they meet “The Guy” he envisioned them about the power of changing your fate and jumping into new hope and possibilites. He replaced Grugs's stories which mostly ended with death because the protagonist in the story tried something new, with New Life and a better tomorrow filled with hope and opportunities. He calls it “ TOMORROW

I hope this blog added some value today. Thank you for your time.

Seriously, this is what i think too. these animated movies are made for children basically so they are simple, and have straight forward meanings. my family laughs at me to be still watching these but there is truly a lot to learn. we got similar minds bro!
