We have all watched National Discovery Channel. Out of all the episodes there was a show in regards to climate change. How the climate change is creating a negative impact all over the world. Rising sea level, Increase in temperature, melting of glacier and so on. We are also informed about how projects are taken up to solve such problems. We are trying to conserve the endangered animals who are dying of climate change. Trying to bring in E- vehicles to curb pollution. Banning of different areas to preserve the biotic and abiotic ecosystem. Planting trees and turning the wasteland into a vegetative land. Landfills are being made useful through the process of biomining and the list goes endless.
We all keep a note of all these events feel good about it, discuss it with our family or close friends and have a great satisfaction as in how much we are trying to resolve the issues we have with our environment. But I also believe that you all believe in individual effort which eventually gets converted into collective effort. I am 26 years old. By the time I have realized how much equally I have harmed my environment a lot of destruction has already been committed that too everyday where I have played an arms role. So just listening and sharing such initiatives to people around can never bring any fruitful change, until we play an active part in it.
Now the question arises is βHOWβ?
A man who is having a 9-5 job, how can we expect him to go to an national park and take care of the animals out there? How can he have an E vehicle if his budget does not permit that? How can he turn a waste land into a vegetative land? If he cant do these then how can he contribute for the betterment of the environment?
We have heard about it a lot of times in a lot of articles. Me at 26 years of age, I have been practicing a non sustainable habit and to turn that into a sustainable habit will take time and effort, a lot of effort. No difficult things are easy to achieve. If it was then we wouldnβt have been talking about climate change in the first place. A change in lifestyle can bring great changes in you as well around you.
We all have a limit. Even water which constitutes 70% of our body has a limit. If we drink more water than we need we will vomit. Even our environment has an extreme limit and we are running towards it at full speed. We need to slow down, stop and Walk backward slowly
Thank you for your time.
