If you want to join merchant Navy as officer you can join it easily by giving a test of IMU CET which is held every year in the month of June top universities took admission on the basis of merit which is scored by a student in IMU CET

5 government colleges which conducts BTech Marine engineering admissions some colleges are private which are good like Tolani Maritime academy Anglo eastern Euro tech Maritime academy and many more this BTech Marine engineering courses for 4 years other one is BSC and DNS both are related to deck side of the ship they are mainly responsible for navigating the ship navigate the ship direction it is a white collar job for Bing deck officer you need to to do a course which is of 1.5 years and three years both have same equality in degree but in 3 years course BSc there is no need of joining ship and they will provide your degree of BSC but on other hand if you took diploma in nautical science then there will no degree provided to you so it's basically a good choice which course you want to do .
