Definitely a great learning !! Worth a share !!
I see this person everyday in morning almost for 3+ years close to our residential complex . He comes sharp at 6 and sets up his small outlet which has some masks, leather cases/pouches for credit cards and passports.
From morning 6 AM exact to evening 9PM he stays there outside this ATM . He sits there quietly close to his display. Never disturbs anyone entering or leaving the ATM.
Neither he forces anyone to buy, seeks sympathy nor begs for alms.
Today, I sat beside and started talking to him.
Mr. Veerabhadran, Ex- Medical employee of a private concern.
He has vision and hearing issues. He has has a physically challenged son and his wife at home.
Despite his shortcomings, he showed his high morale values and determination
I asked him if he needs any monetary help, he flatly said NO !
He added saying , he may not be financially well off but wanted to do his work with utmost respect and professionalism and that's the reason for his punctuality.
He continued saying,
Its not about what you do , its always about how yo do it .
Its not about who is watching, its always about who you are when no one is watching
Its not about how much money you make , its always about how you make that money .
He also thanked me for recognizing his punctuality and principles.
Finally i asked if there is anyway i can help in his betterment.
He replied, if possible kindly buy me some masks gloves and sanitizers which he can add to his business.
I did.
I took a lot of Leadership lessons from this Man and thought of sharing with you all
Ps. This post is definitely not for publicity but to enlighten everyone that people like Mr. Veerabhadran are omnipresent , only we fail to identify in our busy schedules. They don't need our sympathy , they just need a piece of appreciation and recognition for whom they are !!
Not always you need Tony Robbins or Les Brown to get motivated !!
Kindly join me to Salute Mr. Veerabhadran
We might miss common people around us and always look towards celebrities to get inspiration. It is always not that case. Inspiration might come from anywhere and it is always good to take inspiration from anyone.
Other's life might be easy for us to live, but when we try to step in their shoes, we can understand the hardships, they undergo.
