Hi All, Thanks for the support given for the previous blogs. I am back with another movie review. It was released in the first week of Dec on theaters, but unfortunately I did not get a chance to watch the movie in theaters. Recently, I got a chance to view the movie in Amazon prime video.

The movie was written and directed by Vasantha Balan. His famous movies are Veyil, Angadi Theru, Aravaan and Kaaviya Thalaivan to name a few. All the movies were interesting and the way stored was told was unique. But, the movie Jail failed to impress. The plot that was taken is very good, yet the way the movie travels, is not that good. The role taken by GV was similar to the one he did in the movie Paradesi.

So, the main plot is we all are good enough to be born in a middle class family and not in a slum. It is very hard for a guy from slum to get over the barriers and shine in life. There were already a lot of movies that came with the same story line. This movie says that being in slum is also kind of Jail only. People are not getting proper respect, the false acquisitions that are happening in the lives of people of slum. They are not getting proper job, since they belong to slum area. They are some notable details that was portrayed in the movie.

Songs are all were much Gana type-  which is being sung on the slum area and lower class people. One exception in songs was “Kaathoda Kaathanen” - It was a chartbuster due to the voice of Aditi Rao Hydari and Dhanush. Never expected that Aditi's voice is so divine. Dhanush voice was matching her singing. 

Visuals are not that good, screenplay was very slow and everything is very much predictable and we are not either gripped in the story telling. The twist was as expected and the reason for murder was very much known. Even though, the director tried to show the movie in a realistic manner, it did not feel appealing to the audience. The running length was 2hrs and 8 mins, but it felt like the movie was longer than the run time and at places, felt boring. This movie is one time watchable for good story lovers, but the way movie was handled is the main drawback.
