Hello dear readers

As the title suggests, I was away for more than 20 days, with absolute no access to my blogs, website and the mails.

But sometimes, a break from everything is needed, to recharge and rejuvenate, to miss something that you are passionate about, and to see feel that sensation of coming back and doing what you love the most.

Today, as am back, I wish to share everything that has happened in these 20 days with you all. Starting with the reason of my absence- I was busy with planning and preparation for Ganpati Puja at my place.

Planning phase is always the more intensive one, with discussion of whats and hows and who alls. So I was busy making arrangements for welcoming Ganpati, the “bhog prasad”- the food that we offer to God, the list of devotees who will come to seek blessings, the decoration, the itinerary, and many other such requirements which needed to be fulfilled before hand.

Ganesh Puja began on 10th September. So I went to the market to bring Bappa home on 8th September. The idol is brought home and kept covered with red cloth till the final day. That day itself, according to the size of the idol, we decorated the area where God will be placed for the 10 days. We did the entire interior with dupatta and saris to make it colorful yet simple. Fresh flowers were added every day.

On the 9th September, I was preparing various food items which will be served to Him and distributed among devotees and followers who visit the place. I shall be sharing the names and recipes in the next blog.

On 10th, the main day, we started our celebrations and continued for 10 days. Besides a lot of people visiting, a lot of food being cooked and received from people, there was positive vibration at home. When our main focus is on spiritual energy, it gives wonderful vibes to us and to those around us. The peace can be felt by everyone. The one who comes at this serene place to offer prayers and seek blessings, does not gossip or waste time talking negative issues. This helps in focusing on oneself and be grateful for good things in life.

I was unable to find time to use social media during this period and avoided my writing as well, only to give complete attention to the Divine Guest who chose my home for His arrival.

In the further blogs I shall share the following:

  1. Why Ganpati Puja is celebrated
  2. How did I welcome Bappa
  3. why is visarjan done (immersion of idol in water body)

Do let me know how much you know about Ganesh Chauth festival, if you do- how do you celebrate it. Stay connected for more information.
