Book name: The Count of Monte Cristo

A brief Introduction: 

Based in the 1800s, the story revolves around a young boy with ambitions and skills, who had a great career opportunity along with a beautiful would-be life partner- the love of his life. 

The story introduces us to friendship, love, trust and forever-ness. This lesson being learnt due to facing of betrayal and therefore revenge. 

This may sound like any other novel written by a great author who knows how to keep you engrossed and live with the characters of the novel. It will be every easy to feel the emotions of  each and every one who is the part of this adventure story. 

Even the character with the smallest part will leave an impact on the reader. You will find yourself predicting and hoping the furture of the novel. 

My favorite characters:

Of course, the protagonist, the hero of the story is definitely the one of the favorite characters. The Count of Monte Cristo will take you along his journey. You will love him for his intelligence, his sincerity, his presence of mind and most important his love for the people. He gives it all to the one he adores and takes away everything from the ones who harm him. Pretty fair, isn't it?

Another character that I loved the most is Valentine. You will find a perfect teenager in her, who is full of attitude yet agrees to her family, is known to have an opinion of her own, is aware of how to get things done in her favor, and above all, is not ready to give up on her love for her step mother. As the story progresses, you will feel attached to her that you will want to jump in to help her. 

Another person worth a mention from the novel is Albert de Moncerf. In love with his parents, especially his mother, this young lad identifies with someone who grows as story flows. This person is the sweetest character but…okay won't let the cat out of the bag! Do read to know his fate. 

Some weaknesses of the novel:

Each big thing may have some flaws. So are in this one.

The first difficult thing about this story is too many characters are introduced in a short span of time. It became difficult to memorize them all and hence needed to turn back a few pages to be reminded of their role. 

Another fact that I found gruelling was the names of the characters- due to change in their title- were altered during the course of the novel, which made it burdensome to relate with the past of the person. Had to go back to the initial chapters to understand their existence. Since the story is spread over many years, they grew up and got married and had children too. 

The strength of the novel:

For the fans of adventure, mystery, suspense, drama and revenge, this book is a must read. It keeps you engaged till the very end. Since this is an old book, you will find few related movies or series, and progress won't be too surprising, but even then, at certain plots- you will be shocked and surprised!

If the reader is not able to imagine the scenario in the head, the writer has not made an impression. But here, you will feel the sea waves, the sand, the air, the sun and will look at the beauty of the moon. The writer has explained everything so well, that you will be carried along the tale.
