A spat between my fiancé and I broke out on the most silliest topic which is visiting the Doctor. Before I get into that I should also disclose that both of us are hot tempered in nature. And silent treatment is one of my major weapons that I use to “teach” him a lesson (which on a practical basis never works). We met online almost a year ago and have never met each other in person. Video calls are a boon during these times. But we clicked and zinged like crazy and soon agreed to marry each other. The beginnings of a relationship is always the sweetest. Trying to control your emotions so you don't come across as a crazy human being. But since a year is over the crazy is finally out.
And so with the fight, calls are cut abruptly without I love you's and I miss you's. Later when one of us tries to pacify the situation with sweet gestures the reply is a “k”. What does this letter mean? Does “k” mean we are fine? Or does it imply you are mad at me because I got angry to start with? K is the most infuriating letter in the English Alphabetical order, it has no meaning but has an affect which ruins the day. How do you respond to this letter? Should I not reply back? Well that does not solve the issue. Should I send something more cheesy? And my stupid ego does not allow me to do that. What do you do with the letter “k”? Ego is another aspect the both of us share equally. We have had heated arguments on whose ego is bigger. And as always after an hour or so he calls back and we are right back to the mushy conversations.
In a relationship, I have always observed when one partner lets go, the significant other shows attitude. Attitude is a big no no for any relationship as. K is a word which oozes attitude and should not be a resort to make a person feel insignificant. Lol, but with that being said, I think in my relationship I kinda started the trend of the letter “k” to feel that satisfaction for a split second and then sit and worry why no reply. How could he possibly reply to the letter “k”. One of the most complicated and maddening letter in English which has no real comeback.
