So have any of you guys ever just planned a trip and just left for it two hours later??? Well this story is one of my personal experiences.. During my law school days I used to live with my friend at a rented apartment, and so as guessed we had complete freedom.. One evening we realized we have holidays for the next 3 days and so to kick start the long weekend we bought in our usual bottle. As we were enjoying the whiskey and eating fries, my friend decided we should go somewhere just the two of us.. After a while we decided on Manipal as I love beaches and i had a friend who had a place there for us to crash.. An hour later, tickets were booked and we were on our way to Manipal.. As we reached the bus station is when it came to our attention that its a non ac bus travel for the next 10 hours.. Oh god I cant even begin to explain the bus ride with bed bugs on the seat.. By the time we reached Manipal, I had bug bites all over my back but still worth the trip..
Once we reached the destined place, it took us a while to figure out where my friend stays, and once all that was done, my roommate wanted to catch up on her sleep so i was stuck doing nothing.. So, I decided to look around and bought a small bottle of rum to kick start the day.. This makes me sound like an alcoholic but hey I am on vacation.. By the time my roommate woke up it was evening and we decided to go to a pub to just see the crowd.. Well we met a couple who were students in Manipal and we spent the night with them and later got invited to a house party.. As we were about to leave my roommate goes missing and her purse and phone are in my bag.. I decided since I cant go looking for her in the night, I stayed at some guy's place and left the next morning.. After calling up my friend to see if she reached hoe by any chance, I left on a quest to find a person in a land unknown.. Finally I reached at a place where the after after party took place..
Once, we reached back safely, making sure we had all our belongings with us, we decided to go to The Eye of the Tiger which is a restaurant slash pub which had amazing food.. We decided to visit the Malpe Beach.. And that is when I understood the meaning of serenity.. The beach is soo clean with blue waters and golden sand.. I did not want to leave from there and I still miss that place. Later me, my friend and my roommate decided to spend the evening together which was blissful.. The next day we left Manipal and thought of catching a bus back to Mysore from Mangalore. Mangalore in its own humid way was beautiful as well. The sea food manglorean cuisine is exquisite and a must try at least once in your life.. By the time we reached back, it took us another day to fully recover and resume our classes.. A trip that I can never take out of my mind..
