Indian Meals Are Nutritious And Healthy

In India we  are variety of people in different states, Indian meals consists of variety of dishes with different ingredients. It very colorful and eye catchy. It tastes very yummy and fully nutritious. Indian meals consists lot of carbs, healthy, natural and full of protein. Indian cuisines are richly flavored which consists of large variety of nutrients in balanced quantity.

Ancient science proves that Indian meal is complete and healthy for our bodies. If we are talking about a Indian cusuines how can we forget about ‘Thali’. Indian thali is traditional plate with 10 types of dishes accompanied with pickles and yoghurt. We can see this thali in festivals, weddings and on  our Indian restaurants, as our Indians crave for Indian food though where ever we go maybe at any part of the world.  Indian meal is very nutritious when it comes to taking care of your health. 

Indian meals consists of balanced proportion of nutrients in the form of chapati, rice, vegetables, yoghurt, chutney, buttermilk and pickles. These dishes are highly rich in vitamins,minerals, fiber, carbohydrates and antioxidants. Which improves our health. 

As Indian we are obsessed with rice and roti, the staple food of Indians are roti, rice, dahl, pickles and chutney along with chicken and fish. These depends on the region where we live. 

Indian meals also helps a lot in weight loss by having lentils, chapati, vegetable  and rice in right proportion. It provides energy and helps in weight loss. Lentils have amino acids and proteins which helps in muscle growth and loose weight. 

Indian food builds our immune system. As our Indian meals have ginger, garlic, cumin, cloves, curry leaves, mint, black pepper which we use in preparing meals not only provides flavors but also have antibacterial properties in it. It protects immune system.  As the antibacterial, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal properties are very important to fight diseases like covid 19 these days. Yoghurt is also a probiotic and good for gut health. As these helps to fight diseases like diabetes, heart illness, and blood pressure. 

Eat local, seasonal  vegetables and fruits with meals for good and strong immunity. There are some foods to avoid like creamy curries like korma, passanda, masala pulao, naan, bhajjis, pakoras and etc. There are also healthier options such as tandoori cooked meats, madras with chicken and bhuna gosht.

Must try dishes in Indian curries  like cauliflower, chickpeas, spinach and lentils which consists of lower calorie. Try tandoori items than fried items. You can also try upma, dhokla, cucumber raita, sproutside, oats idlis, ragi dosa, bhel and etc.

There are some points which you have to keep in mind while having Indian meals:

  • It should not be overcooked .
  • You should have in right proportion. 
  • Meals should not be oily.
  • It should not have more masala's in it instead have lot of veggies, green leaves, and fruits.

Just keep in mind “health is wealth ” stay fit, stay healthy and have habit of having meals on right time and adequately. Consume food which is beneficial for your health.
