When we say Egypt in our mind may come the picture of the pyramids , sphinx and pharaohs and the last but not the least mummies

So hello friends today we are gonna talk about the great Egypt

I guess you might be knowing about the great nile , Greek historian  HERODOTUS called Egypt the โ€˜GIFT OF THE NILEโ€™

KINGDOM AND THE KING

The king was called the Pharoah which means KING as well as THE GREAT HOUSE where the king lived the people thought that the kings were descended from the gods or they were god's themselves.

SOCIETY

So the Egyptian society was divided into 3 classes like in the mesopotamian civilization

The upper class below the Pharoah consisted of priests, the court nobility and the landed nobility the upper class people lived a luxurious life and the women of the upper class enjoyed a favoured place in the society because the property descended from mother to daughter instead of father to son

The middle class included rich merchants , traders, artisans, jewellers, and those who worked with leather and cloth . The teachers, docters and writters of letter and documents are also included in the middle class

And the lower class was made of slaves

RELIGION AND RELIGIOUS BELIEFS

So the strangest thing  that I have know this whole 11years is that  the Egyptians believed that there was life after death they believed that the pharoh's body mist be preserved so that the soul may live in it  and that process was called mummification ,

So this led them to make large tombs in the form of pyramids

They believed in many gods but the most important of them were โ€˜AMON-RE โ€™--------- THE SUN GOD and the 'ORISIS --------- THE LORD OF AFTER LIFE the temple of the sun god is at Karnak it's not karnatak it's Karnak ,in my class all pronounced it as karnatak๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

ART AND ARCHITECTURE

so here comes the pyramid

They are huge structures of stone. They were royal tombs in which they kept the dead kings

So next is the sphinx which had a man's head, a lion's body, a serpent's tail, and an eagle's wings . It is made of a single stone block. The great sphinx is said to be 240 feet long and 66feet high

ART OF WRITTING

This is Heiroglypics the picture writting in ancient Egypt it is also known as a sacred writting because it was generally used for the religious purpose , it represents objects, then of signs represent ing ideas

In the begining the Egyptians wrote on clay tablets, stone or walls but later they made paper they wrote books on the early 4000 BC on a material made from papyrus plant and a pointed reed was used as a pen .

So that was all for today in my next blog I am going to write about the Chinese civilization

Bye, bye๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’–
